Rooster Advocacy Committee

The Rooster Advocacy Committee is a group of people who are passionate about rooster education and rooster rehoming best practices. Notable programs in this committee include the Rooster Rehoming program, Roo Trainers, and the Therapy Roo program.

Our Mission

The Rooster Advocacy Committee is committed to educating the community about the value of roosters, best care practices, and handling techniques for roosters. We aim to grow shelter and rehoming programs that are sustainable and provide benefits to our communities.

 

Our Goals

  • Create advocates of roosters through educating about their value, benefits, and role in the flock ecosystem. 

  • Develop relationships with cities to work through rooster ordinance

  • Develop sustainable rehoming options

Committee Programs

Rooster Rehoming

The Rooster Rehoming program is dedicated to finding appropriate homes for roosters in a safe and humane way.

Therapy Roo

The Therapy Roo program is designed to give roosters with the best temperament a purpose — to be used as therapy companions.

City Ordinance

The City Ordinance program is organized to help educate and reform ordinances, HOAs, and other regulatory boards on roosters.
